Chinese fortune cookies are fun, crispy treats that we break open to get a little "gift of wisdom" hidden inside. Some are funny, some don't make sense, and others offer a message we need at the right time. Whether you believe they are fate, fortune, future predictions, or plain old folly, these sweet notions are often good reminders to us to keep striving for a life well-lived. 

The five fortunes featured in the photo are ones that I have kept on my desk for a long time. Every once in a while, one will decide to fly off the desk. When I pick it up and re-read it for the one-hundredth time, I accept the saying as something I needed to hear in that moment. 

Today, I thought I'd share them with you, the Here We Are reader. My hope is that one or more of the sayings speak to you as you read this post. If so, then maybe fate sent you this fortune to help you in your future!
