Happy New Year!! It's 2016! Time to launch a new year, a new month AND... NOT a new you. Aha! You thought I was going to say, "a new you." That is an odd and unattainable goal, and frankly, I'm not sure what it actually means or how one would do it. Anyway, what you can attain and achieve is a BETTER YOU by THINKING WANTS.
The last Two Word Tuesday was about Pondering Needs. That article was intended to help you determine what you need as a person to be the best, or at least, a happier, healthier you this year. Hopefully, you have spent time pondering and discovered the needs that will guide you in 2016.
Now it is time to Think Wants. Ask yourself what you really, really, really want from your life in every area. Three "really's" should signal that you must dig deep!
Don't just say, "to be happy." Everyone wants to be happy! There is nothing wrong with that sentiment - it is ultimately the goal - but that statement is too general and broad to yield clearly defined results which will fulfill your wants. Start by selecting a few areas in your life that could use improvement, then focus on those areas. More money? Finish writing that book? Start a business? Move to a new state? There are no right or wrong choices, only those that you want to manifest now in your life.
Once defined, adjust your habits to attain, increase, bolster, replenish each "want." It might be a slow going endeavor, or some areas could respond quickly, you won't know until you try. We are all only a work-in-progress, so start today by thinking wants, then get busy working on bringing them into your life. Before you know it, you will check them off your list because you've changed them into "haves." Good luck and get going!!
