The Power Of A Flower
Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day - like writing a poem, or saying a prayer. ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Even a single flower in a vase has the power and beauty to make you smile. I learned this happiness tip from my sister-in-law who always has a bud vase holding a fresh flower perched on her kitchen window sill. For years I've noticed various blooms and vase selections, and only recently we talked about how happy it makes her.
The simplicity of putting a single flower at the window where so many of us start the day struck me as an easy way to brighten up a "task" area. What I've discovered is that I now look for my flower each morning on the sill, and it always makes me smile... It's also been fun to change them with the changing seasons, bringing the outdoors inside in a special way.
I hope you will pull out an old vase and give this a try, too. You'll be surprised by the power of one flower to make you feel joy.
