Love YOU On Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day... Be your own Valentine today and every day of the year! Give yourself the gift of your own love.
I received an email with a sentiment I have to share with you...
This week, a frustrated and love starved Here We Are reader wrote me with questions about my quote in the February 2011: Love Is In The Air article,
Before you can love anyone else and anyone else can love you, you must first be full of love for yourself. Know what you want and accept nothing less.
This HWA reader (who shall remain nameless) has difficulty with this approach. She said that she, "understands it but doesn't seem to be able to put herself first." As a result she, "...is tired of giving and giving to people and not getting back the love" [she needs]. This is happening to her with men, friends, and family.
As a first step to prioritizing, i.e., loving YOU, use the following quote to help cut through the minutia that eats up your valuable energy and emotions. Focus on yourself, your needs, and your desires first and stop giving yourself away to unappreciative or suppressive people. It is that easy!
When you take each line and apply it to your daily life you will see immediate results. Do any or all of them, just begin each day with one in mind and use it as a guide. (Good luck reader, thank you for sharing with me, and for allowing me to share part of your letter with the other HWA readers.)
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Forget about those who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it. ~ Harvey MacKay
I hope that every time each one of you stops by Here We Are, you find something that makes your life better, brighter, and easier. ~ Luci ♥♥♥

@Ruth S: Thank you! I think you let her know perfectly... This is great advice. Doing one thing each week is "do-able" and a wonderful way to start this process. It can definitely have the snowball effect. Happy Valentine's Day every day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your reader. Please let your reader know that acknowledging how she feels is a great first step.
I think she should make a list of the things she wants to do and, if it means getting up a little earlier or going to bed a bit later, each week she should do one. Even if it's sitting down and reading a book. Personally, I like romances. It's a great way to escape and there's always a happily ever after!
Wish you reader luck, and a happy valentine's day!
