Water Water Everywhere, Nor Any Drop To Drink
Shades of Chartreuse - Freshly Green Tips
You may recognize the title of this post from the epic poem, "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Now imagine if it were true. It is for millions of people who walk this earth.
Today is Blog Action Day 2010 featuring water, our most important natural resource. If you are reading this, you more than likely have access to clean water. We are among the lucky.
One only needs to think about the daily expectation most of us share of a simple thing like freshly brewed morning coffee to begin calculating how we interact, use, consume, and waste clean water on a daily basis. Now imagine your day without experiencing any of those "normal" activities; or worse, doing them using a filthy, slug-like concoction.
I urge you to watch these videos and act today... Donate, conserve, spread the word.

@Bose & Rivergirl: You both share the great point "until it's gone." So true. I have a neighbor who is compulsive about hosing down his driveway. What he thinks he is accomplishing is a mystery; the only thing he is doing is wasting precious water. Ugh.

Water. Another one of nature's bounties we take for granted....until it's gone.

I live in an apartment building that often has no water for periods of time and it is amazing what you miss that we take for granted every day - flushing the toilet, washing hands/dishes, getting a drink of water, taking a shower. As with so many things in life, you don't think about it much until it is gone or unavailable.

@Janine N: No thanks necessary. I am proud that HWA is once again part of the 5000+ bloggers who participated in Blog Action Day. Spreading the word is as important as conserving every drop.

This is a very important issue and one that we overlook or take for granted each day. Thank you for spotlighting it here.
